About workshops

Do I need to have previous experience?


Both workshops are open to everyone, they both start from scratch. You do not need to have any printing experience and you do not need to have any artistic skills or drawing skills. With the stencil printing technique you can get beautiful results with very simple motifs.

Do I need to buy materials and which ones?

For both workshops you need stencil brushes, fabric ink, stencil material (mylar), an exacto cutting knife and cutting board, a permanent marker and fabric. You can find a complete list and more information here. Do have a good look at all the information, the right supplies will make all the difference between having a great printing experience and a frustrating one.

Can I take part if I am in another time zone?

Yes that is possible. I will try find times that work to fit into everyones schedule. Obviously this will depend on the inscribers, but my intention is to make this work for everyone.

When will the next workshop take place?

At this time I will plan workshops as soon as a minimum amount of students has inscribed for a workshop. Then we will plan the workshop together to fit into everyones schedule as much as possible.

Is the 'Complete stencil printing course' a follow up to the course 'Getting started in stencil printing'?

Both courses start from scratch, so if you take one after the other there will be a bit of overlap, but the Complete stencil printing course goes much deeper more quickly.

How to I inscribe?

You fill out the form on the website for either of the two workshops. I will notify you of your inscription and tell you how many participants have inscribed for the course. As soon as there are 4 participants we will connect as a group and start planning the workshop. When we have found a date your inscription is definite and I will send you an invoice.

Can I cancel a workshop?

Once you have paid for a workshop you cannot cancel , but your can postpone your workshop for urgent reasons like illness. I will then put you down for a next workshop.

What kind of equipment do I need?

You need a computer, laptop or Ipad which has speakers, a microphone and a video camera. If you share a room with others headphones might be advisable. You also need a reliable internet connection.


Do I need to install Zoom on my computer?

That is not necessary. I will send you a link in a mail before the workshop starts and you just need to click this link to get into the workshop.

Does Zoom work on all browsers?

Zoom works best on Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Chromium Edge. I advise you to install either of these for a smooth functioning.

What kind of printing technique do you use?

I use both stencil printing and screen printing techniques and a combination of both. I mostly love techniques that can be done with simple equipment at home and without the use of chemicals.


What kind of ink/fabric/stencil material do you use?

I have described the materials I use in my first blog post as well as in my online Skillshare class. You can refer to these for information.


Can I do a workshop with you?

I love to teach printing workshops, however because of corona I  currently limit my teaching to online teaching. You can find my first course at Skillshare. The second one will follow soon. To get a taste of what you can learn you can refer to my different blogs on printing techniques.

About buying handprinted fabric:

Can I buy your printed fabric? And do you sell yardage?

Yes I offer hand handprinted fabrics on this gallery of my website. I cannot at present sell yardage. My printing technique is very labor intensive, therefore I only offer panels of handprinted fabric that can be used for projects like bags, pouches, cushions and small garments. If you buy several panels you will of course get them in one piece.


Is the fabric washable?

Yes all prints are heat set and can be washed. I recommend a cold machine wash or hand wash. Washing your fabrics in this way will preserve the life of the print. You can iron your fabrics putting a thin cloth between the print and your iron. All fabrics I print have been pre washed cold before printing.


Can I use your fabrics for upholstery?I can print on fabrics that are suitable for upholstery. Fabrics that are handprinted may be more sensitive to wear and tear industrially printed fabrics.  They will probably age a little more with use, however the prints hold well enough on items like bags and cushions.  Also my fabrics have not been chemically treated to be stain resistant, but you can always do that yourself if you want to.

Can you print different colours to those shown in the gallery?

Yes that is possible, there will be an extra charge for mixing and testing new colours, get in touch with me to get a quote.


Can I order sample swatches?

Yes you can, swatches are available for 5 euro’s per swatch plus shipping costs.


Can I order a print I’ve seen (on website or Instagram) that is not in the gallery?

In most cases I will be able to reproduce an earlier print that is not currently listed. Just send me a picture (or screenshot) of the print you are interested in.


What fabrics do you print on?

I print on natural fabrics, either linen or biological (GOTS certified) cotton. I most often work on mid weight fabrics,  but depending on the use of the fabric I can choose heavier or lighter fabrics.


Are your products sustainable?

You can find a description here of my approach to sustainability.


How can I pay?

You can pay using Paypal, credit cards and Ideal.


Can I order products in bespoke prints and colours?

Yes you can. I will be making a special page to make this process easier. For now you can send me a message through the contact page of this website and we can discuss what you would like.


Can you customise a product for a person?

I can add the initials of the person the product is meant for, for example in the lining of a bag or pouch.


How can I pay?

You can pay using Paypal, credit cards and Ideal.


What is your returns policy?

Please contact me if you have a problem with your order and I will try in every way to resolve it in a manner that is satisfactory to you. If you wish to return a product after reception contact me within 14 days of delivery. Products on sale or custom orders cannot be returned. Ship the product back to me within 21 days of delivery. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If a product is not returned in its original condition the buyer is responsible for any loss in value. 

If you want to cancel your order you can do this within 3 hours after your purchase.

Do you do wholesale?


I can do a limited amount of wholesale only in the Netherlands in shops or musea that fit with the work that I make. If you are interested in selling my work do get in touch to see if we can work together.

About licensing

Do you license your designs?


I am open to licensing or selling my designs. I do need to update my portfolio, it is currently not on the website. If you are interested in a specific design let me know or let me send you the portfolio of currently available designs.
